Cath was only really taking the girl seriously because she'd stolen three-quarters of security's guns. He'd readily admit it. And she wasn't hording them petulantly like Mae would, just to have them. She'd literally taken them because she was concerned. Which was interesting.
Honestly, he didn't blame her for being cautious. He wasn't about to let anyone just tell him he'd be all right and to trust them, he'd not expect the same from anyone else. Especially someone paranoid enough to beat him to the punch.
Oh fuck all, he was impressed and a bit amused. Cheeky, clever little thing, she was for certain.
"Hello," he greeted them as they entered. He let them sit if they wanted before starting in. "I'm not going to fuck around. This is about the guns. And well, we need more people with bloody brains and balls to protect this lot. You've both and someone at your back." He nodded at Keane. "Especially if something happens to me, or Ronnie, or both us."
It was entirely possible. Although he pitied the boat if anything happened to him and Mae was still around. That was his problem and not theirs.
