Sean shook his head. "I doubt we'd need anything so destructive. If the vents are too small, and the key passes don't work, we can cut around the locks. A portable jigsaw would work. There's enough woodwork on board they have to have basic carpentry tools for emergency repairs. Failing that there's the much more hazardous blowtorch. That they will have in engineering. But the chance of a fire if they have wood barricading the doors..."
Cath was likely right an no one remained. Very likely right. However; all possibilities had to be planned for. If someone were able to go through the vents there was the small chance of an armed person on the other end.
"It's hard to accurately gauge the blasting power of a home made explosive. They usually tend towards overkill." Sean had no way of knowing Cath and Mae likely knew how to measure exactly.
"As a very last resort we can rappel down from the deck and find a way to break through the helm's window. I'd rather not leave the controls vulnerable to the weather, though."
That was something he could do. He'd rappelled down buildings before. If it came to that, he didn't foresee a problem other than getting through the shatterproof tempered glass.
In any scenario, there was a possibility of someone being hurt. Ms. Wood being on alert, or even present, would be helpful.
