To say the least, Jack was the last thing Lottie expected. Naturally, being family, she had pictured him to be similar to Miguel: soft spoken and calm, with a go-with-the-flow attitude. The ball of energy that joined them all but knocked her over in the booth. She couldn't help but think he was a lot like her when she was sixteen, excited for the adventure that was life. Not that she couldn't still be a ball of energy, she had just... mellowed quite a bit. But get a few drinks in her, or a couple cups of coffee and she reverted.
She listened to him speak faster than maybe anyone had ever spoken, totally baffled. Comprehending any piece of what he was saying was a long shot, and she had to wonder if Miguel was feeling the same way. And then, just when she was about to give up hope that he would start speaking in a language she understood, he noticed her.
"Hi Jack, I'm Lottie and you're not insane, you just speak extremely fast." Strange... saying that about him conjured up the feeling of a deja vu, and she couldn't help but think she had met, or at least seen him, before. But before she could ponder the thought, he was off and running again.
Her head spun with his words as she tried to follow them. "Wait what? Whose wife?" she blinked.
