"I suppose that makes sense," Terra said, glancing at the plans. "Safe, right. And I thought I'd be laying on a beach in the Bahamas by now." She sighed and pulled their dinners out of the bags, sliding the plans over so he had a place to eat.
At his kiss, she smiled and returned the kiss, wrapping one bare arm loosely around his waist. Terra felt the same kind of elation she usually felt with new boyfriends as she kissed him, but damn it was still great. She wiggled her bottom up onto a clean corner of the desk, waving at the food laid out on the desk. Terra definitely wasn't trying to tease him by showing him the expanse of thigh that revealed itself as she sat and her dress rode up. No sir.
"Eat, sweet cheeks. You're probably running on empty right now," she said. Terra had always found pet names to be strange. Not when she called men by them, but when they called her by them. Usually it annoyed the hell out of her--she had a name, and it was rather pretty. But she didn't seem to mind it coming from Ronnie. Yet. She didn't agree with him, especially with the whole angel business, but she wouldn't correct him either.
