Gor had, quite honestly, been too busy trying to save his contraption to notice the immediate danger to his skull. He had all-but dove forward in his chair, hands reaching to steady the sun-watcher as the entire table trembled from the force with which his leg had hit it. Reflexively, he had kicked his leg when the woman literally walked into his chair, and that had almost upset everything.
Fortunately, the table stayed in one place and the sun-watcher remained stable. He was going to have to, however, reset the thing -- but that was alright.
"No, you're good," he said immediately, not once looking up from his project. Carefully, he realigned the "compass" -- which was, in reality, just notches drawn on the piece of paper. "Nothing broken." Thank goodness.
