Miguel was up at his usual time to make his usual rounds. Housekeeping was still busy, despite the oddities occurring on board. There were still rooms to be stocked and cleaned, and most of the staff was happy for the distraction. There was something comforting about a routine...
It was when his shift ended that Miguel dreaded, that in-between time when there was nothing much to do much sit and think and wish he were home. So far, he hadn't seen much of either Josie or Jack other than the brief check-in to see that they were alright and to see if they needed anything. They were both busy with...other things, he supposed, and that was just fine.
But he missed his wife and daughter, and the longer they were out here, the more he wished he had never left.
To distract himself from such thoughts, he threw himself into his work. He was just emerging from a passenger room when his eyes landed on the figure of a young lady rounding the corner. He was a little surprised -- no one else seemed to be up this early but Housekeeping.
