Jean managed to get back on his feet and some of his decorum back. He noted the collar and clothing. Maman was Catholic, but had never tried to impose it on her children. Priests were people to be respected though, what with their life dedicated to helping others.
He nodded awkwardly, merely glad he and Nikko hadn't bowled into the man. "I'm glad," he said, still trying to get over his startle. He was still a bit on edge after the whole incident the night before.
And apparently, forgotten his manners entirely. He extended a hand to the priest. "I'm Jean-Baptiste Calvert," he said. "Sorry we nearly bowled you over. Nikko's been a bit eager for a good jaunt today."
