Cath fell silent, dropping his head as the priest rightfully scolded them. It wasn't about egos and who should have done what. People's lives were hanging in the balance here.
He listened to the back and forth, agreeing with most of it. If Ronnie was the only security guard left, the boy would need a lot of help. But there was one thing he couldn't let slide any longer.
"No," he said firmly, stepping forward and raising his voice a bit. This was all too familiar, trying to get the attention of a group of people who had different ideas about how to achieve their goal. This is something he knew.
"There's no more staff or passengers," he explained. "That's tripe and needs to be done away with 'afore it becomes some sort of 'us against them' nonsense. We've two dead that we can likely confirm. More people disappear everyday. People are beginning to panic and want answers. If we're going to get through this, we have to be a team. Everyone. So the sooner we get the message across to everyone we're in this together, the better chance they have of working together and surviving. There's a load of brains and talent in this room, but there's other people out there who can be just as useful. Every resource you have, when it comes to survival."
Cath didn't know much about investigating murders or people magically disappearing without a trace. But he did know how to lead a bloody army and survive.
