Sean ran a blunt finger over the teeth. He gave a sigh. "It's not an accident. See this," He pointed to an almost triangular fragment of tooth. "That's one of the front teeth. I'm not a dentist, so I couldn't tell you which one. But this," he pointed to what was obviously a molar, "you can't lose teeth from two parts of your mouth from any normal accident. Sports related, maybe, but then it's rarely molars. You'd have to be in one hell of a fight to lose a molar. Anyone who took that hard of a blow would have sought immediate medical attention, unless they were injured while commencing a crime. No one's reported being mugged or beating the shit out of someone who tried to do so and so."
"This took several blows, two at the very least, to the face." Sean rubbed his hand down his face. "There's a chance someone toothless is holed up in their rooms. We have three more passengers missing and who knows how many crew. But this is a lot of pain they'd be in."
Sean was reassessing giving up the serial killer theory. Something violent had happened. But was it just a vicious fight or something else, Murder? abduction not by aliens? Or a cruel fight? Maybe he should be looking for Molly's squid.
Sean took the coffee and poured some, black. He took a large swallow, letting it burn his tongue a bit. He hadn't yet told anyone not there about the murder. But there were at least five civilians that knew, and the chance of all of them remaining silent without being asked to was slim to none.
"A body was found last night. I knew him. The reporter who was interviewing people all over before New Years." The librarian might have seen him, or even talked to him. "His body had been dumped on top of one of the aft elevators. The ones not working." It hadn't looked like Graham was beaten, however; bruising might show up yet. Sean would have to check the teeth during examination. He doubted these teeth were from Graham, though.
Sean picked up the molar. "And this was snapped off at the root."
