Mary looked over the girl's shoulder at what she had produced from her pocket, and smiled approvingly. "Nice!"
She had no idea why she was walking along with this chick, but she was. Well, she had nothing to do, anyway. Might as well check out what the recently-awaken genius was going to do.
"I know. But not once? Not one person seeing any of them fall? The storm only lasted a day, dude, it was calm waters from then on." Calm, deathly calm in fact. God, they were so fucked. Mary snorted humorlessly. "Those went down with the storm, and never got fixed, too; I think." She said, referring to the cameras. Hence why someone had some theory about a serial killer. It was plausible, not at all out of this world nonsensical, and without security tapes everybody had been left to guesswork.
"Everybody thinks that. But hey, they did, and now we're fucked." Mary shrugged, annoyed, because apparently this was the moment when she was accepting her fate.
