Ella moved a bit closer to his legs with hopes that she could catch him if he fell. It would probably end badly, him pulling her over the edge with him, but she felt she had to at least be there just in case.
"A paranormal investigator? Sounds exciting and dangerous. Do you, uh, work a lot? Do you help solve crimes and stuff?" Ella stopped herself and looked down. "Sorry, I got carried away."
She leveled a look at him, noting the odd grey color of his eyes. "Are you sure nothing'll hurt me here? You'd tell me, right, if something were to?" She didn't know why, but she felt that after everything she had been through in the last few months, she needed some assurance that she wasn't going to get hurt. Emotionally or physically.
