Cath had seen Sean ask the girl to look at the copier, but he'd spaced it off as he buried himself in more of this Triangle nonsense.
Until he heard someone rummaging about near his office. His first instinct was to go for the knife hidden on his person or the gun in his desk drawer. But that would be bloody stupid, considering whatever was taking people was not striking in the middle of the day or likely affected by bullets.
Instead he rose from his desk and walked silently to the doorway. There was a wee girl covered in ink, and fiddling with the copier. Looked like she'd been there awhile. Must have come in while he was in the loo that last time. Too much bloody coffee. Went right through him it did.
"What in the name of all the saints are you doing?" he demanded, noting the snoozing canine nearby. He couldn't see her very well, the stupid reading glasses made everything far away look to big. He took them off, not wanting to be seen wearing them anyway.
Not that they added much of a scholarly air to his clothing. He didn't have a uniform, but was wearing a pair of khaki cargo pants and button down shirt that was a gaudy palm tree design. It was mostly unbuttoned at this point, showing the white undershirt he wore under it and the sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He couldn't help it, it was too bloody hot in his office to not have made an attempt to cool down.
