Re: ~9:20: Mary and Slav
Slav's own experience in bars only had to do with that pool hall back home where he frequented from time to time, occasionally dragged along by the guys at the shop. Who he often spent far more time with than his own brothers. They would grab a beer and play pool after hours until he headed home. He was not really a fan of home most of the time.
With a slight wrinkling of his nose, he explained. "Bianca owned an accounting business, Louis owned a chain of preppy girl stores." He did not even really register that he had not called them 'Mom and Dad,' or that that could be considered odd in any way. Hey, for all he knew, Mary would not think it was strange. He didn't.
His ego was not unhealthy, just oblivious. Since he judged himself more on what he could do than what he looked like, he did not think anyone else did anything else. "Thanks," still, he was admiring the body displayed by the outfit, coloring just a shade when he remembered to look back up at her face. "Sorry."
