Sydney stretched her long legs out in front of her and crossed them at the ankles, her gaze focused on the toes of her shoes as she listened to Brodie explain that he did not know what was said either. Darn. In truth, she sort of just wanted off the ship. Though the odds seemed highly against it, she was a little paranoid that another freak storm would strike. She was trying not to think of how nice it would be to be back home in her comfort zone once again.
She sighed and turned her green eyes to him. "What are you doing in the library?" She smiled at the silliness of her question. "I mean...I guess what are you reading?" Because obviously if he was hanging out in the library, he'd planned to read something. Unless of course he was just enjoying the bookish smell which was entirely understandable. There was something comforting about that smell, wasn't there?
She picked at the sleeves of her sweater and not for the first time, wished she could speak to her mother or her brother. It had been so long since she'd heard her brother's voice and she didn't even know exactly where he was or how he was doing. Or what he was doing but of course it was something involving a gun and that was worrisome no matter.
