If she was talking to herself...out loud, no one else really seemed to notice except for that one lady who actually stopped and turned around to stare at her. The entire time Syd made her way back to the deserted library, she was scolding herself for taking too many of those darn - absolutely wonderful - pain pills. Now some poor man named Brodie was lying on the library floor in complete and utter physically torturous pain and it was all her fault!
She hoped the pain pills were at least beginning to kick in for him. Once she arrived back at the library, it took her a moment to remember exactly where she'd left him. This was only her second time in the library and her first time had been just minutes ago. So it was not necessarily the pills that had her forgetting where she'd left her...uh...wounded...Brodie.
"Brodie!" she whispered though it sounded a bit more like a hysterical hiss. "Shit!" Oh cripes, there he was! She caught sight of his shoes as she came around the corner on a row of shelves.
"I lost you," she admitted with a quirky smile that did not normally belong to Sydney. Easing down to her knees again, she turned the cap loose on the bottle and held it out to him. "Feeling any better yet?"
