Sydney inwardly cursed right along with Brodie as he struggled to get the pills in his mouth. A couple of times she lifted her hand, intending on helping only to drop it again out of fear of causing him further bodily harm of some kind. Plus, he could potentially be very pissed at her. Funny how that was just now crossing her mind.
I think I can take him if he gets physical. Wait...physical? He can barely move. Her brother's often repeated statement when they were younger of, "I got mad ninja skill, Syd, you better back off," came to mind and she laughed, touching her fingertips to her lips when she realized she'd laughed out loud.
Watching him chew the pills, she also grimaced. Ew. He introduced himself and reminded her about that water. "Right!" she cried, shoving the bottle back into her pocket sans lid. "Water, of course. Brodie." She pushed to her feet and blinked a couple of times to bring the room into proper focus. Being high was definitely an odd feeling. Perhaps is was not a good idea for her to have a prescription for crack after all. Which would never actually happen anyway.
"Sydney," she said, glancing down at him and consequently introducing herself for a second time. "I'll be right back."
Water actually proved much more difficult to find than she'd thought it would. She had to walk and eternity to find one of those little vending areas where bottled water could be found and she was half expecting him to be gone by the time she got back. After all, someone who was not stoned on painkillers could happen upon him and actually be of help.
