Lisa's nerves were getting to her again. After the storm had hit and so many people had been injured, she was sure that the Coast Guard would be coming soon, and when they arrived she was sure they would discover her true identity and arrest her. The thought of going to jail terrified her, but there just didn't seem to be a way to avoid it; she was trapped on this ship, and the butcher's bill was coming due. But once she had realized how inevitable that fate was, she had somehow made her peace with it. But she had waited, and waited, and waited, and the Coast Guard still was not here. If her arrest was inevitable, why did it have to take so long? Why couldn't the Coast Guard just get here and get it over with? All this waiting was making her a nervous wreck.
But now, the captain was claiming he didn't know when the Coast Guard would be there. How could that be? If they weren't close, why was she hearing sirens in the distance? She didn't like the thought of drawing attention to herself, but no one else was asking, so...
"Excuse me; what about the sirens? Is that not the Coast Guard, and if so, shouldn't we be heading that way?"
