the awkward morning-after Who: Noah and Lynne Where: Noah's room When: Around 11am
Noah woke up slowly. He could feel Lynne pressed against him and breathed a sigh of relief that she wasn't gone. He must not have had nightmares last night. The medicine must have worked.
The whole night came flooding back to Noah and his face crumpled with emotion. Words could not describe how horrible he felt for hitting Lynne. Rationally he knew that he had been in the midst of a really bad flashback and he hadn't been hitting Lynne, he'd been hitting the enemy. Rationally, yes he knew that. Emotionally, he was consumed with guilt and regret for hitting a woman
He slowly turned over, groaning softly as the movement jostled his sore muscles. He looked at Lynne and gently pushed her hair off her face. He felt a few more tears slip down his face as he looked at her. How in the world had he ever thought she was anything but the beautiful girl she is? Noah felt waves of shame. He was the worst kind of man on the planet.
Noah thought he could feel his heart breaking. He knew what was coming. He knew that as soon as she opened her eyes, she'd run screaming. She'd get as far away from him as she could. And he wouldn't stop her. It was only right. She should avoid him so he couldn't hurt her again.
