From the way he paused, Lottie almost thought she had offended him. She chewed thoughtfully, shrugging at his response before swallowing the bite and responding. "Well, I dunno... I guess I just have this impression of military men being structured and stiff and... not reserved per se," her brow furrowed in thought, "stoic?" She sighed with defeat. "And you, you just seem much more free spirited. Rebel without a cause?" she asked tentatively, not sure if that was the right term, but it was close enough.
"Not that you can't be that way," she interjected. "But obviously I have a very in depth first impression of you," she laughed at herself, half embarrassed that she had been so thorough. She was being neither complimentary nor negative, merely just making an observation.
When he explained why he still rode a motorcycle, she grinned. "Ah, of course. I was right with my whole 'Rebel Without a Cause' spiel," she bit her lip in amusement.
