Instinctively, Chelsea went to reach for the mirror, but the weight that was her forearms reminded her that it wasn't going to happen. Looking up, she saw herself for the first time since this whole thing had begun. The tears she'd been holding back for a while began again. "Oh god..."
Ignoring the fact that the neck brace gave her a double chin and pushed her cheeks up a bit, she could see what a mess she was. There was considerable bruising seeping out from under her hairline, she had several cuts on her face and lip, and upon further review was definitely missing one- no, two teeth. At least they weren't quite in front.
"Well," she said, looking up at Lisa, trying to stop crying. "I guess I'm going to need a makeover before the captain's dinner," she said with a faint smile. "At least you found my shoes. Aside from the dress ones I had the other night and those big ones I had for the costume party, they're all I've got." She strained her eyes down and saw the casts poking up from under the sheet. "Like I'll be wearing them anyways," she mumbled. "Could you do something with my hair? At least pull it off of my eyes?"
