Carly had grown tired of waiting for Ben to get off of the phone with his mother and at last had waved him off with her hands to signal that she was leaving. He'd just have to come and find her once he shut his mother up about wedding plans. Sometimes Carly felt as if she were more excited about it than she was. She obviously knew that that wasn't the case, but at times it appeared to be that way. Hopefully she would be able to convince herself otherwise once she picked out a dress. And hopefully she would find the right dress. She wasn't even sure what she wanted! She just knew that it needed to be white and it had to be perfect for her. Nothing too princessy.
She was dressed plainly in a pair of black shorts and a grey tee shirt, not really bothering to look her best. They were on a vacation, after all! Was there really a need to dress up for anyone? Sure, she could dress herself up for Ben, but she knew that he didn't really care. He had better not, at least, otherwise she would purposely walk around with a green face mask plastered to her skin. See how he likes it then. It was rather warm outside, so instead of staying out on the deck she soon found herself inside of a diner. The food was all too tempting and she just had to go in; did they sell breakfast all day? She could really go for a waffle right about now.
She strode easily up to the counter and sat beside a man, another passenger she assumed. Had he been looking at her she would have smiled, but he seemed distracted by the waitress. And the burning in his mouth, apparently. Carly smirked to herself and ordered a glass of orange juice. She cleared her throat pointedly and handed a few of the paper napkins to him. "You spilled a bit of your water, too."
