Poor beast. He was really suffering. Jean patted his back as Az gave him a good scritch. She was a dear one, to worry for Nikko so. But then, he was Jean's baby. Az knew that, she was the same with her puss.
It didn't even cross his mind that she'd find it odd. It wasn't as if he'd already proposed or anything like that. They weren't ready for that yet, he wagered. But he was more than content to spend the rest of his life with Az. Which hopefully meant someday there'd be children and such. Made perfect sense to him. He grinned at her as she agreed, chuckling softly.
Jean had to look away as she gently washed away as much of the blood as she could. He could feel his stomach roiling from the thought and the smell. Blind him, he hated that. Made him feel weak and useless at times. But he couldn't help himself.
Luckily the human sized splint wasn't too enormous on the huge dog. He did his best to bind it up tight. There was an aircast in there, but he knew Nikko would likely pop it trying to chew at it. The pole and wrappings method was best for now.
"There," he murmured as he finished. He gently shifted Nikko to the floor, trying to be careful of his leg and the glass all over the floor. Nikko got a few extra scritches before Jean stood.
And went back down on his bum on the couch, wincing and yelling in pain. He'd forgotten the glass shard stuck in his bloody foot.
