He had decisions to make, and he knew he had to make them right now, or at least as soon as possible. He needed to find Az, he knew he should go out and be looking for her, but he couldn't leave his Nikko alone. Plus, her cat was no doubt still in the room, and he considered getting back in there to look for it. There would be blood anyway.
Jean hadn't signed up for quite this. A cruise was supposed to be relaxing. Warm sunshine, lounging, parties, drinks, fun times - the boat was not supposed to rock and buck like a horse trying to throw his rider. Stop the boat, Jean wants to get off. No, they were too far from land for them to do that now, and rocking aside, he was certain there were people who would put it past them and continue on enjoying their lives. He needed to get Nikko to a vet, somehow, soon.
Pulling out his phone, he noticed there was no service. No way to call Nikko's familiar vet, even, and ask if there was anything Jean could do for his dog. Just bloody great.
Nikko whimpered, then barked, lifting his head to glance down the hall.
At Az's voice, he practically fell over forwards trying to get up in the narrow hall, running up to hug her before he could help himself. She was alive, that was good. Nothing too terribly large or terribly sharp managed to find its way into his girlfriend. That was the good news of today. "Az! Azzy. Are you alright?" He pulled back from the hug enough to look over here. "Where were you? What happened?" Jean cupped her cheek in one hand, thumb grazing over the bandage there. She looked alright.
