"Don't worry about me," Jason insisted and was relieved when she finally took his hand to pull herself up. When she collapsed onto the bed, Jason wasted no time following, staring up at the cracked ceiling and holding his arms out for Alli. "C'mere sweetie, come see Daddy," he said, not wanting for her to continue to be confused, or worse, feel forgotten.
They needed to get to a medical bay but Jason could barely keep his eyes open. He knew that he shouldn't fall asleep, but man...he wanted to. "Alli, sweetie, can you sing Mommy and Daddy the alphabet?" he asked. Anything to keep him focused on something other than his exhaustion.
