Jason watched as Alli climbed into Cami's lap and he took that opportunity to hug them both to him, although gently because he didn't want to hurt Cami more than she already was. And he didn't have a lot of strength left in him, it seemed. The fear and confusion as well as the pain had drained him of energy.
Pressing his lips to the side of Cami's head, he found himself relaxing slightly only because her injuries didn't sound as bad as maybe they could've been. "Don't think you're alone with the concussion," he whispered in her ear, not wanting to let the unease in his voice frighten Alli. "I can't really see straight...and like I said," he added slowly, "I think I pulled something."
Or bruised it. Or broke it. He had no idea, but he wasn't going to speculate out loud and put Cami into a panic.
