Once again, Jason reached over, gritting his teeth in pain at the movement, and wiped the blood from her eyes. "Did you break anything, you think, babe?" he asked as he crawled closer still, finally close enough to really reach her.
Alli had taken to curling into herself beside him, her tiny arms wrapped around her knees that she'd drawn up to her chest. The little girl was sniffling and still crying silent tears, hiccupping through sobs that finally made noise. The sound, quite honestly, was actually music to Jason's ears.
