Savannah, unlike her siblings, had explored the ship -- with certain goals in mind, of course. She had found the shopping center, the dance floor, and the net cafe. She had scouted out the best places to sunbathe, had visited the spa, and had poked her nose into the exercise area.
And everything was so perfect!
If only Samantha would have come along, things would have been perfect! Instead, her sister had muttered something about Jane Austen or quantum physics, whatever she was reading these days.
Well, that was fine. Savannah was a big girl -- she could explore on her own...
For the past hour, Savannah had been nursing a low-fat gourmet fruit drink in Cyamites as she e-mailed everyone she knew a detailed description of her experiences aboard so far. The e-mail primarily contained a series of happy faces, exclamation points, and hearts, but it also made a rather scalding note of the decor of the room she shared with Samantha. Even here, Savannah needed to connect with her friends on some level.
It was on her way back to their quarters that she noticed a certain duo stepping into the greenhouse. She was, admittedly, a little turned around (just because she had been exploring in no way meant she understood the maps!) Her eyes lit up, and, without even the tiniest hesitation, she called, "Hey!"
The greenhouse door shut behind them.
The grin that appeared on her face was full of excitement -- finally!
The door banged open, a bit harder than Savannah had intended. The bang announced her arrival, drawing eyes to the slim girl in the doorway. "Oh my God!" she began, foreshadowing the start of a long-winded greeting. "You should *totally* see what I bought from a kiosk!" There was a pause, lasting approximately half a second, before it dawned on her. "Oh, wait! You can!"
Proudly, she stepped forward, wrist out for her siblings to examine the bracelet she had purchased. It was a pretty thing, featuring tiny shells wound onto a black cord.
"Isn't it just *too* cute? It's so *rustic* and stuff, you know? But I don't know *what* I'll wear it with when I get home. I mean, it doesn't exactly *match* anything, you know?"
Most people wouldn't know what had just hit them...
