Lynne looked up sharply and shook her head, immediately regretting it for the dull throbbing in her temples she received for her effort. "Don't go," she said quickly. "I'm okay, I just..." she let her voice trail off and then sighed slightly as she adjusted the ice pack when it began to warm from her skin.
"It just was kind of scary, you know? To see. It wouldn't have even been so bad if I wasn't already freaking out, you know, from what happened, so just...gimme a sec to come back down. It's okay," she insisted. And then more softly, "I know you didn't mean it." And she did know.
