Peter leaned heavily on him, trying to support most of his weight on his other leg. It wobbled threateningly beneath him; there were times he forgot his legs weren't so good anymore. With his heart pounding and adrenaline still racing, now just happened to be one of those times.
It forced him to put down his other foot, if only temporarily. His knee gave a loud snap, audible to the kind man helping him, certainly, and Peter grit his teeth to keep from crying out.
Once the initial pain had subsided, he tested it by placing a little pressure on it. It ached, but it would have to support him. With a nod towards Hector, he said, "Thank you." His voice sounded breathless, and it trembled just a little. "I believe I can make it to -- where was it they said we were to go?"
