Sean watched as they took Sydney away. Apparently a section of the lobby had been cleared up as there was no way there'd be enough room in Medical. He'd go there after he found Molly. He could at least help with the usual first aid things.
He saw Kaz cross to the nearest bar and pour himself a drink . Sean felt his mouth dry up and his pulse race. He watched that liquid hit the glass, beckoning. Just this once. He deserved it, didn't he?
He walked over to Kaz and lay a hand on the other man's shoulder. "You may want to keep just enough of that to pour on your cuts." Sean didn't sit down. "You were fantastic, by the way. You likely saved several lives tonight. It's hard to keep it together in the face of all this and still help. Your concert may have been great, but you'll never top what you achieved in the last half hour."
No. He wasn't going to succumb today. One more day. One more hour. One more minute. He had to find Molly in this mess.
He noticed Ronnie across the room. That kid was another one who deserved recognition. Hell, the other walking wounded who stepped up all deserved awards. They'd at least get a jewel in their crown in Heaven.
Thank you, oh Lord, for seeing us all through this so far. Be with the injured, and please comfort those who'll be dying soon as well as their families. I beg you, let Molly be alright. And her friends as well. Let me find them quickly. Lay your healing hand and protection on Sydney. Amen.
"I gotta get going. My niece is out there on H deck."
