Sydney smiled at his practicality. She wished she could be more practical and a little less emotional at times. It probably went with his training though. Her brother was probably the same way.
"Yes, he knows I'm on a cruise," she replied. He knew exactly why she was on the cruise. So much for relaxing and taking time to come to terms with her approaching death. On the other hand, maybe this incident would actually be helpful in that regard. When she'd first regained consciousness, she'd been sure she was dying or had died. The darkness was frightening. She felt a tremor go through her body and she closed her eyes. Okay, maybe not so helpful.
This wasn't death though, at least not for her. She reminded herself of that. She could still hold out hope for the light, that it would be there for her when the time came. She hoped that Sean's Molly was alright. Molly was such a sweet girl. Syd listened to the sounds around her, of people whimpering and others with clear voices who were administering to them. She was lucky she had Sean holding her hand. When this was over, she would remember to thank him properly.
