Ella felt a flash of irritation at the guy who wasn't Matt. She did her best to ignore him. And then Chelsea started crying. "Aww, don't cry, Chels. You gotta calm down, honey." Ella leaned over her so Chelsea could see her face without moving her head, being very careful not to jostle her. She closed her eyes against the white hot pain from her possible broken rib when she leaned over, but her main concern was Chelsea.
"No one is leaving you here, so just get that thought out of your head. And of course you're alright!" Ella insisted, her voice full of confidence. "You survived Daytona...you're a fighter. And you're gonna fight through this, you hear me? Do not give up. We're all here to help you. You gotta do your part and fight." Ella's eyes teared up at the end of her speech. She would never forgive herself if something happened to Chelsea.
