Re: ...continued from up top
Micah looked back to Lisa and felt his stomach knot up. As if it wasn't bad enough the redhead was talking about thinking she needed to throw up, he wished she wouldn't tell everyone he was a doctor; he wished he hadn't told her he was. It was meant to calm her down, because she'd been worried and crying, but it wasn't entirely true and it was making him more and more uncomfortable every time she said it. "Yeah, just...be really careful not to move her. Really careful," he replied.
As he'd said it, he heard the other dark-haired woman say that she thought she had a problem and by the time he'd looked over, she was throwing up. "Oh, Jesus..." he breathed. That was the sort of thing that had kept him from finishing his sports medicine degree. Blood was one thing, but vomit made him squeamish and with massive amounts of pain it was practically a given. Swallowing thickly, he pushed it away when Lisa was asking what to do. "It's okay," he insisted calmly, feeling the blood draining from his face. "She's okay," he said.
"Sweetie, look at me," he said to the one who wasn't Lisa as he pulled his t-shirt up over his head and put it over his hand, using it as a glove to clear her face and mouth. "Where's it hurt? Tell me if this hurts; I'm gonna turn your head just a little bit so you don't choke, okay?" he asked, eyes on her as he used both his hands to stabilize her neck as best he could before tipping her head just slightly to the side. If she had to vomit again, at least it'd be clear of her breathing passage.
Micah looked back up at the other man. "Are you a doctor? Can you help me?" he asked. Micah could handle Lisa, but the other two at the same time was asking a lot more of him than for which he felt prepared.
