A tower of amps broke Keane's fall. And possibly his eardrums. There was a horrible bit of feedback as Res got jolted, and as she fell towards him he yanked the cords to unplug her. "SHUT THE POWER DOWN!" he shouted to the sound techs, hoping at least one of them stayed upright long enough to do so. He unplugged his bass and tossed it aside - ignoring the fact that it felt a bit blasphemous to dismiss his instrument like that. Res was more important. "Res, you with me?" he asked, yanking her guitar strap off and pulling the instrument away from her.
Res wasn't sure she was on planet Earth. She'd felt a jolt, and then she'd been unable to do anything but fall. And now... was she lying on the amps? Had the ceiling shifted? What the... "Oh, fuck." she said, looking up at Keane. "We're going to tip over."
Keane looked around, mind working fast admist the chaos. Chesh had done what he'd said he would, and was nowhere to be seen. Fucker. "We're not going to tip over, that shit doesn't happen in the real world. Give it a second..."
Fuck, did Res' head hurt. Res' everything hurt. She looked out into the room and saw that it could be a fuck of a lot worse. "Hold on." she said. "I'm going to do something very stupid."
Well at least she warned him, that was more than he usually got. Keane realized what she meant to do and grabbed hold of her, and braced himself the best he could. He wasn't built for this shit.
Taking a deep breath, and hoping she didn't get thrown against a wall for this, she stepped off of the stage and reached for some poor bastard in the pool. She could hear Chesh' voice in her head. Don't be a hero, it's not covered by the health plan. Some guy was bobbing in the water, so she grabbed what she could - which happened to be a fist full of his hair. Hey, that was handy. She pulled him closer, until she could loop an arm around his neck. "Pull me back!"
Initially, this task was pretty difficult, but then the ship did a handy thing and shifted, sending everything flying in the opposite direction -- and thus, he, Res, and Res' grip on some poor unconscious sod all went flying to the opposite tower of amps. The bloke all but landed at he and Res' feet. "Help me get him out of the way."
Res ducked down and grabbed one of the guy's arms. She realized immediately that if she and Keane could manage to stay on the stage, they had the upper hand here - they were close to the door to the hall. Here's hoping they didn't break the fucker's neck throwing him in the direction of said hall. Where was Chesh's stupid ass when they needed him? "NOW!" They shoved him into the hall, where he'd be bound to get a little bruised up, but it would be dry. That done, she looked back to Keane. "Going out again." she said, holding out her hand.
Keane held on to her, and again braced himself as Res reached out to try and grab someone else.
