Thunder pealed suddenly overhead, and Savannah couldn't help but glance upwards. Thunder sounded differently on the open ocean, she was finding, louder and somehow longer than the cracks she was accustomed to in the city. It was a little unnerving; she supposed this was what they meant by "rolling thunder."
The storm outside was getting worse. She had heard the safety announcements and seen the signs, but there was an element of tension which went far beyond the New Years Eve activities. She supposed it was the fact that most of the people aboard had never been on the open sea before, much less during a storm...
Her eyes shifted to CJ with a smile. Cool and confident, that was CJ. She was glad he was with her -- his confidence was reassuring, and she felt herself relaxing against him.
"I so wish you'd told me you were going to dress up," she complained lightly, leaning over to run her fingers teasingly over his tie. "I totally would have worn something a little fancier."
