Savannah's breath of air was sudden as they resurfaced, as unused as she was to such things. With the kiss broken, she tilted her head backwards a little, just to give herself a little bit of breathing room. She was smiling, though, her hair made darker by the water as it pooled in the water around them.
"No," she told him at last, reaching out with her right arm, as if she could stop their path with a little splash of her own. "I just wasn't ready." The admission came with a grin. "Not that I don't like surprises? 'Cause I totally do." Using her legs to scissor-kick to keep her afloat, she reached up to his face with her hand to stroke his cheek. "But, I think there are some things that have got to be repeated."
Her eyes were full of twinkling mischief as she told him, "Hold your breath." This time, she would seek out his mouth.
