He laughed at her apparent ticklishness. One thing about Savannah, she seemed to have the ability to make him smile. Her company was enjoyable on several levels and it was easy. Leah's words from the previous night flickered through his mind and he frowned slightly. Savannah was not easy in the sense in which Leah had carelessly tossed out the word. That wasn't how CJ saw her at all, he simply enjoyed the fact that it did not require an effort for him to be with her and enjoy it.
CJ smiled as she sat down to let her legs dangle in the water. His smile widened when she reached to brush back his hair. "I'm thinking about cutting it and going with a mohawk," he teased. "What do you think?" He couldn't even remember the last time he'd had short hair. When he was a kid, his mother had always been too busy and preoccupied to take him in for regular haircuts and having longer hair just became a part of who he was.
Impulse was also a part of who CJ was and the impulse he got when Savannah was near, was to touch her. His hands moved her legs just enough so he could fit in the space between them. "It does seem to be a very pure rain, doesn't it? I like the rain, the gray. I like the sound of a good thunderstorm too and the unharnessed power behind it. It's like it climbs inside and electrifies the soul."
