Jack had just nodded to her suggestion when he remembered he had forgotten to grab the mini map in his room. The one he had gotten just in case he did not want to get lost again. "Yeah, sure thing," he replied with a smile of his own clear on his face. "Hang on, I've got to go back for something."
He turned and jogged back to his room, had it open and found the map all within a minute or two. While he was turning back to leave and close the door, he found a small envelope he had somehow overlooked before. Just outside his door. Bending to pick it up, the young man looked at the front, which had his name written on it in small and timid handwriting. Before he even opened it, as he walked back to where Eve was, he was sure who had sent it.
Once he had the envelope open, and extracted the small piece of paper enclosed inside, his belief as to the sender was reinforced. Sasha. The sweet but extremely shy girl he was supposed to go to the New Year's Eve party with that night. Was supposed to have gone, he corrected after a quick read through. It did not really say much, except that she was canceling their date, through a reason he did not really understand.
Jack had mixed feelings on the subject. While she had seemed nice, there had been the fact that he had gone to bed last night with Eve. Who he did like, and was going to breakfast with now. You know, it had been much simpler when he had not had time for dating.
