If Brodie wasn't completely crazy and Jamie really had given him the journal anonymously, he had a great amount of nerve. He was acting like Brodie having seen the receipt really wasn't anything special, but Brodie just couldn't be convinced that one thing wasn't connected to the other.
Brodie shook his head. "I don't need a doctor." Jamie might, though, but Brodie wasn't really in the state of mind to suggest that. He regretted not having his own pills with him; his head was too much at work, he needed to calm down a bit.
The question would need to be asked sooner or later - Brodie had reached that conclusion. But before asking, he wanted to give it time, see if Jamie said anything at all.
