Micah looked back at her and smiled, shaking his head. "Hey, no worries, I'm not either," he replied reassuringly. "I probably wouldn't even be here except I feel kinda guilty wasting a trip I know all my buddies really wanted to win even though I didn't even know I was trying to win it," he added. Micah had a bad habit of rambling a little when he was nervous. He took another drink to shut himself up.
"If it makes ya feel better, at least you've got the consolation of being a chick. Girls are allowed to be awkward and it's cute. When we do it," he said, gesturing vaguely at himself, meaning men in general, "we look lame." He paused. Might as well introduce himself. At least they could be together in feeling ridiculous about being out. "I'm Mike," he offered, holding out his free hand to her to shake.
