Emily found Aileen's remark about religious people being at peace to be rather ironic. She herself believed that the more devout a person was, the harder Satan tried to tempt that person into doing wrong. And everybody, no matter how religious, had at least one vice that Satan tried to exploit; for Emily, it was sexy women like Aileen.
