Chelsea rolled into the restaurant a bit later than she'd planned. Well, she'd planned at one point. She had alternated back and forth all day between going and not going to the party tonight. She hadn't been in the mood to do much today. She'd gotten out briefly to get food, but had spent a good portion of the day curled up in bed with some car magazines she'd bought before the trip. Which is what she usually did when she was depressed. In the end, though, she'd decided that she couldn't spend the rest of the trip in her room. It was a vacation, for Chrissake.
She thought her rollerskate costume was pretty unique. She'd designed it herself, although one of her mechanics' wives had actually made it for her. She'd gotten a long black dress for cheap at the thrift store. White laces had been added all down the front to about her knees with a big bow at the top, right over her boobs. Over her footrest, she'd added a black "stopper" that covered both her feet and the front of her footrest. A simple domino mask completed the costume. All in all, she thought she was pretty cute.
She looked around for someone she knew. It was kind of hard when you were at butt level with the rest of the world, but between the people, she could make out a few people. No sign of Ella, at least. That wouldn't be awkward at all, would it. She thought she spotted Molly wandering through the crowd, but wasn't entirely sure. She had definitely spotted Lisa, who she needed to apologize to for the night before. She started to make her way over to her, but then glimpsed the girl from the treadmill. Crap. She'd catch Lisa later. Sighing, she turned and took a table by the dance floor, ordering a ginger ale from a passing barmaid. Nope. No pina coladas tonight. Back on the wagon, missy.
