Re: PRIVATE
Eve was quite pretty as a slightly trippy Alice, red hair and all. He had made sure to tell her that she looked great before they headed for the ball, or least he thought he had. He had, didn't he?
When Miguel grabbed his hand in two of his own, Jack placed his free hand atop the clasped hands. There he squeezed, for a heartbeat, before releasing him. It was an old habit, and one that neither seemed likely to change. He smiled widely, greeting the other man like they had not seen each other in days, not hours.
Jack responded to Miguel's exclamation with mock offense, "/Hey! I do not!/" He looked down at his costume and then over at the redhead at his side. "He says I look like a human cannon ball!" Then he had to laugh, shaking his head. "/I'll have you know, it's the uniform of a World War One pilot. You can even ask Katie, she's to blame for it."
Resisting the urge to make a face at Miguel for the crack about girls, Jack rolled his eyes, still smiling. "/I made a friend, not collected a harem./" He had no idea that Miguel had meant to hang out with him rather than in a group, otherwise he would have placed his brother-in-law first, after making an apology to Eve.
