Every bite of the food Jack had chosen to put on his plate from the buffet table was just as delicious as the next. Whoever the ship had in their kitchen certainly knew their stuff, the food was scores above the usual buffet fare in both taste and texture. It was something he appreciated with his usual foodie love of all things tasty and edible, and made dinner all the more enjoyable for it. Eve was busy thinking at first, eating all the while, and he followed her example.
He did pause, however, while she began explaining her thoughts on her costume. While he did return to eating after the first few moments, he focus was most definitely on her and what she was saying. The difference between the Alices was an interesting one, and Jack had always liked to dabble in the thoughts of the true mythos/stories and how they compared with the Disney 'cleaned up' versions for small children. After all, the Grimm Brothers had not had innocents in mind when planning their readership.
Jack nodded, "I think I can see that. How Alice was torn in two directions, depending on the situation. Even if I never did figure out if it was really all a dream in the end, which was kind of frustrating." On one hand it could all be a small child's twisted dream, on the other it could be that she had accessed a land of imagination. It was a bit like the Giver in that respect. "No, no," he assured her. "It's great. Now I wish that the costume I have is one that had that much thought put into it, or at least my thought."
