Jack had posed a very interesting question, one Eve hadn't really asked herself. She didn't answer right away, instead choosing to eat some more of her food, and think while she chewed. Finally, she came to what could be called a conclusion on the subject.
"As much as society and Disney tried to make it sweetly sick and children appropriate, I think Lewis Carrol and Jefferson Airplane both have the same Alice in mind. Or at least, the same subtext." She paused to have a sip of her lemonade. "On that note, I have to say I identify more with the latter. Sometimes it's scary being Alice. Other times, it really is like finding a wonderful land." Eve smiled a little smugly, and took another bite off her croissant. Once she was done swallowing, she finished:
"Ultimately, I think you probably need to judge whose Alice it is for yourself, if you're going. Even more ultimately, I've yapped about a costume entirely too much already, for which I apologize." She said this last sentence with a hint of amusement at herself, for how long she really had spent speaking almost philosophically about Alice in Wonderland.
