Savannah couldn't help but smile. Molly could be describing herself rather than a fictional character. "Sounds like it's totally perfect for you," she told her.
It took a minute for Savannah to follow the change in conversation. She had been eyeballing the fake piercing with a sort of horror -- clip-on earrings were terrible, but she couldn't imagine a clip-on lip piercing.
"Earrings?" That's right. She had asked for advice. "Oh, it's not really so much a question of focus." The brush ran through Molly's hair gently as she first tamed those beautiful red locks, then began experimenting with brushing them to the side. "Dig in that top drawer there. My earring box is in there."
As Molly pulled out the box, she gently but insistently pulled Molly's hair over to one side, as shown in the picture. Her hair was heavy, so it would either stay with very little product or it wasn't going to stay at all. "We'll have to get your hair wet, I think."
Oh, her earrings! Looking down to the box, Savannah pointed to a pair of gold hoops. "So these are what came with the costume -- it's Marilyn Monroe's dress from Niagara, by the way. But do you think I should stick with the gold -- I don't usually wear gold -- or should I go with something else? I mean, that's the only jewelry the outfit came with, soooo..."
