In which Jack is both lost and hungry. Who: Jack and Miguel When: Just after noon Where: Jack has no clue Rating: Negligble Status: Incomplete
When another student had laughed and said that he planned to sleep for a week after school was over, Jack had agreed, albeit jokingly. He had not expected to actually follow through on it himself. That was, in fact, what he ended up doing. Maybe not the best start for a cruise, but it had been what he had really needed, uninterrupted sleep.
Jack yawned widely as he came awake, stretching his arms out wide (thankfully without knocking anything over). The next moment found his eyes opening, although he squinted against the bright sunshine streaming into his room. It made sense to put his hand over his eyes, as he climbed to his feet. At least until he was rounding the bed and banged his shin on something. Thankfully it was padded, like pretty much everything else in the room, so it did not hurt nearly as bad as it would have otherwise. You had to hand it to whoever assigned the rooms, his was perfect for his clumsy self.
"Ow!" He needed coffee. Really needed coffee. "Ow, ow, ow."
A few minutes later, after blinking at himself in the bathroom mirror (as well as making a few faces at his reflection for the entertainment of it), Jack searched through his still mostly packed bags for something to wear. The search was not lengthened by any sort of vanity, but instead by the odd discovery of the fact that his sister had obviously been through them before he had left for the ship. Things had been repacked and refolded, with a couple items thrown in that he had been sure he had not owned before.
Why was there a costume in his things?
With a shake of his head, Jack shook off the question to be answered later, and pulled out a few articles of clothing that should work. Jeans, a Fox racing tee and some sneakers. There were more pressed and formal clothing, some with brand recognition labels attached, in his baggage, but right then he was focused on other things. Like the sudden growl of his stomach, reminding him that he had been sleeping a great while, with a few light meals whenever he had woken. Not enough to really sustain him for much longer.
Finding something to eat should be easy. Right? Wrong. You see, Jack had not looked at the map in his room as he should have, before leaving it in his search for sustenance. And now, well, Jack was lost. He had not even really paid attention to what floor his room was on, and after wandering through a couple corridors, going up a staircase, he was even more lost than when he started.
Still, he had no worries. Someone would come along eventually, or even just pass by, and he would be able to get directions. His stomach growled again, as if to agree with this belief.
