It was with care and patience that Rita instructed the other two women in the basic asanas (postures), after completing a few more stretches to simply limber up the muscles.
She guided them through the sitting positions of vajrasana (Thunderbolt posture) and balasana (Child's posture) to baddha konasana (Cobbler posture) and padmasana (Lotus posture).
Through the easy standing positions of tadasana (Mountain posture) and urdhva hastottasana (Upstretched arms posture). To the more complex uttihita trikonasana (extended triangle posture) and virahadrasana (warrior posture).
At the end of the second hour, Rita rose to her feet in a gracefully fluid single movement. "You both have done remarkably well, but I believe that our time during this session is at its end." She placed her hands in front of her chest, palms together and fingers pointed upwards in a 'prayer' gesture. A quick nod of her head and she smiled. "I do hope to see you at another session, and do hope that you were able to gain some relaxation from our time together."
