Lisa watched Rita carefully, and did her best to reproduce the movements. So far, the things Rita was doing seemed simple enough. Although she had never done yoga before, Lisa did have a few things going for her. She was in good physical shape, and her years as a cheerleader in high school and college and the gymnastic training that went with it had made her agile and flexible. Normally this would be easy for Lisa, but the problem at the moment was the nervous tension she was feeling. This morning her muscles felt tight and jittery. As a result, although she was able to replicate all the movements fairly easily, it didn't look as smooth and graceful as when Rita did it.
Fortunately, Lisa was oblivious to Lynne's occasional glances in her direction; she was focusing entirely on Rita's instruction. If she had realized that Lynne was using her as a model to which to compare her own ability, the additional pressure would have made her that much more nervous. Instead, she kept her attention on Rita and followed along.
