Smiling back at the other two women with relief and apology in her eyes, Lynne took one of the mats from Rita. "Lynne," she introduced herself to both. "Nice to meet you, too."
The woman who called herself Lisa had started to offer a handshake and seemed to think better of it, making Lynne arch an eyebrow for a moment, but then the other two were unrolling their mats. So, Lynne did so as well. She followed Rita's lead and positioned herself in the center of her mat in the same way Rita had done.
"Uh, just a little heads up," she said softly, looking sheepish. "I have no idea what I'm doing, so...hopefully I won't be holding back the class..." With that, she looked over at Lisa and mouthed a "sorry" as she wrinkled her nose. While Lynne had always wanted to try yoga, she'd never had the time and money at the same point in time to actually do so. Not that that was an excuse for making things go more slowly or perhaps redundantly for the other woman if she had more experience in yoga than Lynne.
Lynne looked back at Rita, then, folding her legs beneath herself in an Indian-style position. It was bad enough that she'd come late and then interrupted once more to apologize for not knowing anything about yoga, but she was ready and wanted the instructor to know that she was listening, now.
